Top 10 Places to Explore During Doors Open and Farms Open Belleville

Belleville residents and visitors can enjoy a full day of history, culture, agriculture and behind-the-scenes experiences when Doors Open Belleville and Farms Open: Quinte & Hastings return on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2026.

Doors Open runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., although hours vary by location. 

Farms Open takes place throughout Quinte West, Belleville, Hastings County and Harvest Hastings members on Sept. 11, 12 and 13, with the Belleville Farmers’ Market participating on Saturday. 

Here are 10 Belleville stops to add to your itinerary:

1. Belleville City Hall

Begin at Belleville City Hall, one of the city’s most recognizable landmarks. Constructed in 1872–1873 as Belleville’s market building and town hall, the building has dominated the downtown skyline for more than 150 years. Guided tours will be available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

2. Belleville Farmers’ Market

Located behind City Hall, the Belleville Farmers’ Market is Belleville’s featured Farms Open destination. Browse seasonal produce, maple syrup, honey, baked goods, fresh flowers, plants and handmade products. Visitors can also meet growers and ask how their food was produced, stored and prepared. The market is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with peak hours from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

3. Glanmore National Historic Site

Step into Victorian Belleville at Glanmore National Historic Site. Built in 1883 for banker J.P.C. Phillips and his wife, Harriet, this grand home features restored interiors, period rooms, European fine art, decorative objects and local historical artifacts.

4. Albert College

Founded in 1857, Albert College is Canada’s oldest independent coeducational day and boarding school. Visitors can tour the historic 1926 educational building and learn about a school that welcomes students from Canada and around the world.

5. Belleville Fire Station No. 1

Families will want to visit Belleville Fire Station No. 1. The modern facility includes a museum showcasing Belleville’s firefighting history, memorabilia and the “Loyalty, Tradition and Progress” exhibit. Visitors may also visit the Firefighter Memorial Rose Garden nearby.

6. Bay of Quinte Yacht Club

Founded in 1876, the Bay of Quinte Yacht Club is one of Canada’s oldest freshwater yacht clubs. Explore its history and longstanding connection to Belleville’s waterfront from 1 to 4 p.m.

7. Community Archives

At the Community Archives of Belleville and Hastings County, visitors can discover how records from governments, families, businesses and community organizations preserve local history.

8. Pinnacle Playhouse

Go behind the curtain at Pinnacle Playhouse, a former Salvation Army barracks and the current home of the Belleville Theatre Guild. Guided tours are offered at 10 and 11 a.m. only.

9. Belleville Art Association

See artwork by established and emerging local creators at the Belleville Art Association. Its exhibitions feature visual art, handcrafted pieces and original designs.

10. Meyers Creek Brewing Company

Finish at Meyers Creek Brewing Company, where renovations uncovered the original 1884 brick building. Small brewery-production tours will run from noon to 4 p.m., with a maximum of five people per tour.

Participants can also pick up a Farms Open passport and collect stamps at each stop. Anyone visiting at least three locations can submit a completed passport for a chance to win one of two prize packs.

Most Farms Open locations are free, and the event runs rain or shine. Pets are not permitted, so visitors should plan accordingly and check each location’s hours before setting out.
